The Beauty of Washington (state)

•September 14, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I took at trip a week ago to go visit my friends in Kalama, WA.  I made sure to take my camera of course so I could take pictures and share them with you.  I am amazed at how beautiful it is out there with the mountains, lakes, ocean, etc.  None of it looks the same out there and there are so many things to do and see!  Mount St. Helens

The picture on the right here is at a tourist center about Mount St. Helen’s and where you can see it.  It was a little cloudy that day but you can still see it standing tall in the background there.   It’s actually amazing how it looked before it erupted compared to how it looks now.  They say that the middle of it is starting to form again.

Kalama, WA
This photo was in Kalama right beside the Kalama river that actually a lot of people travel from all over to fish in.  This barn happened to be across the road from where we were and I could not help but think it looked like an oil painting you see in a country home.  Not even just a country home but any kind of house!
Redwoods at Lake Sacajawea Park
This photo is from Lake Sacagawea Park in Longview, WA.  These redwood trees were just sitting next to the lake.  They are ridiculously tall!  We literally looked like ants standing next to these trees.

Columbia Gorge
This was a photo I took while we headed up that morning to go white water rafting on the Salmon River.  This is the Columbia River Gorge that divides OR and WA, which is pretty cool I gotta say.

This is only a few from the handful that I took on my trip, so be sure to check back as I post more photos over the next few days!

High School in Twilight Movie

•September 12, 2009 • 1 Comment

Okay all of you Twilight fans out there, here is the high school they used in the movie “Twilight” as “Forks High School” which is actually really Kalama High School. While we were out visiting friends in WA state, my friend said that the high school they used in Twilight was actually his old high school so we had to check it out!

If you saw the movie you know exactly what took place here and where this was in the movie! Sorry to upset anyone that it was not really Forks High they used. Although they did film many parts in Forks, they used this high school instead. It’s so cute though the way it sits on the hill and the view from it. We could not help ourselves when we saw the school going “oh man this is where Bella drives up with her truck and where the van slams into her truck and Edward saves her!” I know sad huh?? But anyways it was just cool and we wanted to share with you. So if you happen to be in Kalama, WA check out their school!

As we were heading in from wakeboarding and tubing out in the bay, there was a storm forming in the gulf right behind us as we headed in that made for a great shot.  Enjoy!

Taking Random Photos

•May 8, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I have often started keep a camera with me wherever I go just in case something comes into view that would be a great photo.  Like I said in my last post, anything simple can be a great photo.  One thing I have noticed is how photogenic animals really are.  When I get out my camera my dog, Chase will jump in front of me just about because he knows exactly what I’m doing and wants his picture taken, it’s hilarious.  Anyways, here are a few more pictures to enjoy.  Get outside and take some pictures!

Great Photos are Anywhere and Everywhere

•April 30, 2009 • 1 Comment

Anyone who loves taking pictures and capturing moments knows that you can capture that even in your backyard.  A simple photo can change your mood, make you think, calm you and even make you wish you were somewhere else.   Some of the best pictures I have ever seen were the simplest ones taken and that are so innocent.  I encourage anyone who has a camera, to go take a walk one day to your favorite place and just take some random shots and see just how awesome it is to capture the beauty that surrounds us everyday.  It doesn’t matter if you’re not a professional photographer, if the photo means something to you then it’s worth sharing and who knows, it may mean something to someone else too….

Here are some additional photos for you to enjoy!
